Our client, Islamabad based Oil and Gas Sector Company in Pakistan seeks to induct qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Senior Internal Auditor / Assistant Manager Internal Audit.

Key Accountabilities:

Compliance and Control:

• Assist in ensuring compliance with and implementation of the annually approved Audit Plan.
• Maintain up-to-date records of documents related to the internal audit department, including audit plans, internal audit reports, and follow-ups on open observations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation.

Internal Audit:

• Draft audit observations and reports.
• Manage routine audit tasks effectively.
• Conduct vouching of payments, receipts, and invoices.
• Assist in the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and in testing controls.
• Analytical review of accounting records and information for accuracy.
• Prepare draft compliance reports for further review.
• Assist in the examination of business operations including inventory counts.

Qualifications:

           Minimum: Candidates must be a member of a recognized body of professional accountants (ACCA or CA).

           Preference will be given to those with  experience at a Big Four accounting firm or additional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Fraud Examiner.

Experience:

• Senior Internal Auditor: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Internal Audit domain within reputable international, government, semi-government, or large commercial organizations.
• Assistant Manager: Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Internal Audit domain within reputable international, government, semi-government, or large commercial organizations.

Technical Competencies:

• Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong ability to identify and assess associated risks effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of local laws and best practices related to the public sector.
• Familiarity with internal audit methodologies and frameworks.
• Expertise in data analysis and use of audit software tools.
• Understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders effectively.
• Capacity for independent work, demonstrating initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
