Punjab Transport Company formerly known as Lahore Transport Company is wholly owned company of Government of Punjab, established in 2009 under section 42 of Companies’ Ordinance 1984 repealed with Companies Act 2017 registered with Registrar Joint Stock Companies. 
The initial purpose of establishment of Punjab Transport Company (Lahore Transport Company) was to operate within the notified urban areas of city district Lahore as per section 72-A of Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965 to provide efficient, safe, environmental friendly and affordable public transport facilities. Thereafter, the name of Lahore Transport Company was changed to Punjab Transport Company, as per the Minutes/ Decisions of the 43^rd Provincial Cabinet Meeting. Furthermore, the jurisdiction of PTC was changed from Lahore to Punjab as per the Minutes/ Decisions of the 03^rd Provincial Cabinet Meeting.

Punjab Transport Company PTC Jobs 2026 Details:

In order to meet the increasing mobility demand and facilitate private transport operators, 350 Ankai, 111 Foton, 21 Zongtong AC CNG buses were operated with in Lahore. Furthermore, a scheme of refurbishment of buses was also introduced in order to provide an efficient public transport service to the general public and a fleet of 90 diesel buses was added in the operations of Lahore. Punjab Transport Company PTC Jobs PTC has also contributed to infrastructure development for Lahore city, with removal of illegal occupants at transport depots, renovation of depots without government spending, installation of flag posts and shelters etc. PTC has always encouraged women empowerment concept, therefore, PTC introduced female gender buses which were operated exclusively for females, known as Pink Buses. Subsidized cards for students are also issued through which only PKR 10 is charged per trip. Free travel service for Senior and Disabled citizens is also a popular initiative undertaken by PTC.

Punjab Transport Company PTC Jobs 2026 Awareness of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is on the rise, especially in developing countries. For the same purpose, PTC has successfully implemented E-ticketing on all urban subsidized routes of Lahore. In the next phase, PTC has implemented cashless transactions for transparency in the E-ticketing system. Furthermore, PTC launched ‘Apni Sawari’, a smart phone app available on Google Play Store, which provides real time bus information, including bus arrival time, trip planning, live bus locator etc. to commuters. In addition, for the facilitation of public, Punjab Transport Company has uploaded all fare tables to avoid illegal fare collection from transporters.
